The United States of America is strongly committed to the prosperity, sovereignty, stability, and security of the five Central Asian countries as well as a vision of regional economic connectivity through its New Silk Road initiative. The historic C5+1 meetings in New York in September and in Samarkand on November 1 represent a significant step forward for the U.S.-Central Asia relationship and a sign of the growing capacity of Central Asian countries to collaborate and prosper as a region.

Since President Obama’s call at the February 2015 White House Summit to Counter Violent Extremism for the international community to join together to expand our efforts against violent extremism, the global CVE movement has grown rapidly, and the pace of progress has been impressive.

Officials discussed areas where we will continue to work together to prevent and reduce crime, conduct effective law enforcement and operations, strengthen rule of law institutions, enact meaningful police reform, and undergo joint strategic planning in the Northern Triangle.

The Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), conducted a two-day training for Dominican prosecutors, in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
