Operation Onward Liberty (OOL) is a U.S. military-led team who mentor and advise the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) in order to develop a national military that is responsible, operationally capable, respectful of civilian authority and the rule of law, and is a force for good among the Liberian people. OOL’s goal is to assist the AFL in building a professional and capable military force that can effectively provide and contribute to the overall security environment in Liberia.

The Combating Terrorism Fellowship Program (CTFP) provides education to international security personnel as part of the global effort to combat terrorism. The U.S. Department of Defense program assists key countries in the war on terrorism by providing strategic and operational level education and training to mid- to senior-level foreign military and civilian officials with a direct role in combating terrorism. Policy oversight is provided by the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict & Combating Terrorism while program execution and financial management is administered by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
