The African Union (AU) has threatened to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) unless its raft of demands are met. At a meeting held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Monday, African foreign affairs ministers welcomed the termination of the case against Kenya's Deputy President, William Ruto, and journalist Joshua Sang.

At least 20 people have been arrested for various offences related to border crime since the start of a police operation to curb hijackings in Mkhanyakude district in northern KwaZulu-Natal. The operation started in December last year to tackle cross-border crime, after numerous complaints that car hijackings have escalated with some vehicles ending up in Mozambique.
